چکیده

The title compound, NH(4) (+)·C(11)H(7)O(3) (-), was obtained by slow evaporation of a 30% ammonia solution of 1-hydr-oxy-2-naphthoic acid. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane.

Piperidinium 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoate

The crystals of the title salt, C(5)H(12)N(+)·C(11)H(7)O(3) (-), were obtained from a methanol/water solution of 3-hydr-oxy-2-naphthoic acid and piperidine at room temperature. In the crystal structure, the piperidinium cations display a chair conformation and link with hydroxy-naphthoate anions via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O inter-action is also present.

Structure of the ring cleavage product of 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoate, an intermediate of the phenanthrene-degradative pathway of Nocardioides sp. strain KP7.

1-Hydroxy-2-naphthoate (compound I) is a metabolite of the phenanthrene-degradative pathway in Nocardioides sp. strain KP7. This singly hydroxylated aromatic compound is cleaved by 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoate dioxygenase. In this study, the structure of the ring cleavage product generated by the action of homogeneous 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoate dioxygenase was determined upon separation by high-performan...
